The theatre is my home, it’s where I grew up and is also where I learned to understand it’s role as a container of numerous languages: dance, music, lights, scenery, song, costumes, acting. It’s difficult to think that a choreographer can be interested “only” with dance or a musician with music. I believe the public has above all a need for emotion, pleasure and irony, and more than simply understanding, there is the need to give a logical sense to that which is seen. It can also be said that there is often very little emotion left in our daily lives. In my travels I often encounter a multitude of professors, authoritative personnel and specialists: you no longer hear talk of creativity nor excitement, sensations which can be at times carried within dance or hidden behind it. next... |
